Wow. Of all the ways to do it, that is the WORST way to go about it. I hope he's ready for the economic sanctions. And to see what the "media luna" does in response ...

Wow. I'm in shock.

Economic sanctions will only push Bolivia closer to Venezuela than it already is..although Santa Cruz stands to gain more royalties under this new plan.

Bolivia can get pushed closer to Venezuela or Cuba. But neither can really help Bolivia much (esp since Venezuela is a gas competitor!). W/o a sea coast, Bolivia should rather chummy up w/ the ABC's (Argentina, Brazil, Chile).

It all depends on the enterprises' responses to the decrete. It's interesting to see they are very carefull, I think they will adequate to new contracts.

Your whining and crying because foriegn capitalists will stand to lose with this nationalization?

This shows why the Latin American rightwing will continue to be seen as vendepatrias.

Don't worry about sanctions--we might let select corporations do business in South America (if it benefits the people lol)

Maybe. But Venezuela can't afford to subsidize both Bolivia & Cuba. The whole thing's going to come tumbling down, and Bolivia, sadly, will bear the brunt of it.
